Ford Innovation Website and Hybrid Technology

It took me a few clicks to find the section on hybrid technology on Fords new innovation website, but it was worth the time to view it. It's fairly simple, but it gives you some of the basic advantages of driving hybrid vehicles. Plus, videos are always more fun to view.

Here's some of the information you get from the innovation website:

With a hybrid, you get all the benefits of a conventional vehicle and then some!

Drive cleaner: Potentially, fewer fill-ups and less pollution
Drive quieter: When a hybrid is running on the electric battery, it hardly makes a sound

Drive simply: The only lifestyle change you need to make is getting used to fewer pit stops for refueling

Drive farther: Depending on driving habits and conditions, drivers of the 2006 Escape Hybrid can expect to travel up to 500 miles on a single tank of regular unleaded fuel* -- about 40% farther than drivers of the non-hybrid Escape V6

Drive smarter: Some hybrid purchases may be eligible for certain federal, state and local tax deductions

In 2008, Ford will offer three more hybrid vehicles: Mazda Tribute, Ford Fusion Hybrid and Mercury Milan Hybrid.
