Cash for Clunkers Positive Results

Edmunds.com put together some numbers on the Cash for Clunkers program so far and some of the results have been very positive.

The average fuel economy of a new car bought with the CARS program is 23.2 mpg, while the average fuel economy was 21.8 before the program. Trade-ins before the CARS program averaged 20.0 mpg, while the average trade-in during the program was 18.3 mpg. And the dealers are seeing a 20% increase in gross profit per deal.
