Even as GM and Chrylser continue their merger talks, work on the Chevy Volt continues.  Buehler Motor Inc. has been selected to provide the water pumps for the Volt and some other hybrids from GM.  The 12-watt and 50-watt auxillary water pumps are used to circulate coolant through the Volt's subsystems.


Buehler and GM have been working since mid 2007 in a technology partnership on providing the customized water pump.  The contracts for the production version of the Volt have just been finalized.
