The Mercury Mariner Hybrid has been awarded the Green Car of the Year award. The award was given by an 11 member panel of jurors comprised of automotive and environmental experts.
The Mercury Mariner Hybrid is the luxury version of the Ford Escape Hybrid. Although they are basically the same SUV, the Mariner has the luxury parts, which brings the price tag up.
