Edmunds recently reviewed the Toyota Camry Hybrid and here's a summary of what they had to say.
- Engine Specs
- 45 hp electric, 147 hp 2.4 liter DOHC 4 cylinder gas engine: net result 192 hp
- CVT - continuously variable transmission
- Engine torque 138 lb-ft at 4,400 rpm
- Electric engine torque: 199 lb-ft at zero to 1,500 rpm
- 0-60 in 8.6 seconds
- 60-0 in 135 feet (braking test)
- If you didn't know it was a hybrid, you wouldn't be able to tell just by driving it.
- MPG meter on the dash
- slight undercarriage design to minimize drag
- EPA Rating: 40/38 mpg
- Edmunds Testing: 38.4/42.4 mpg
- Low Speed was eerily quiet (no gas engine)
- High Speed road noise penetrated the cabin
- roomy, but not comfortable for three in the back seat
- 10.6 cubic feet in the trunk (small)
