Not surprisingly, the Honda Civic Hybrid and Toyota Prius are on top as the two most eco-friendly vehicles compiled by the German road club (VCD). The top ten vehicles were (including their eco-ranking):

- Peugeot 107 Petit Filou (7.94)
- Toyota AYGO (7.94)
- Daihatsu Cuore 1.0 (7.79)
- Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion (7.70)
- Daihatsu Sirion 1.0 (7.67)
- Toyota Yaris 1.0 (7.39)
- Toyota Yaris 1.3 (7.36)
