For a smoother and responsive ride the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado lineup is built on an all-new platform. A lineup of six powerful, Gen IV small-block V-8 engines balances the stronger frame for a light-duty delivery of segment’s highest-rated towing capacity, horsepower and fuel economy, with a maximum payload capacity of 2,160 pounds.
2007 Silverado Classic model includes the Silverado Half-Ton, Silverado Hybrid, Silverado SS, Silverado 1500HD, Silverado 2500HD and Silverado 3500.
Chevrolet’s Silverado 2500 and 3500 came top among pickups in the heavy-duty segment in Strategic Visions’ 2006, Total Quality Awards. Chevrolet’s Silverado 1500 light-duty earned the “Highest Ranked Large Pickup in Initial Quality” of J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study. As per their study, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 light duty is the most sophisticated, silent, smoothest, well equipped, and a pleasurable pickup introduced in many years. Flexible ride has been enhanced to a higher comfort level as a driver-selectable suspension (AERC option) on a pickup truck has been applied for the first time.
One of the many power train options is the popular 315-horsepower 5.3-liter V8. The Silverado can be also be equipped with a 195-hp 4.3-liter V6, a 295-hp 4.8-liter V8, a flexible-fuel 5.3-liter V8 that operates on E85, or a 367-hp 6.0-liter V8. For heavy-duty models diesel engines will be available, which will be available around February 2007.
