The Freedonia group, a Cleveland-based researc firm is predicting demand wordwide for hybrid electric vehicles will double by 2020.
By 2015, worldwide demand will hit 4.3 million units, and then double by 2020. With higher demand leading to higher production numbers, the premium cost is expected to decline.
Demand from Japan will be lower than in the US. Although demand from China is expected to escalate. Diesel options will keep demand down in Europe. Pressure from South Korea is expected to increase with local production.
