GM CEO Rick Wagoner says "We're right in that race. Right now we are rapidly expanding our offers" of vehicles powered by such alternatives as gasoline-electric engines and a gasoline-ethanol mix (Source: Bloomberg.com: Worldwide).
It also seems Rick Wagoner thinks GM hybrids are just as good as Toyota hybrids.
Wagoner said that while Toyota had a "good start in gasoline-electric hybrid" vehicle introductions, GM's hybrids are now on par with Toyota's and his company is already testing hydrogen-powered vehicles.
All in all, an interesting assertion from a company that sold under 100 hybrid vehicles in the month of November, compared to Toyota, which sold over 25,000 hybrids that month. GM is coming out with a bunch of new hybrids in the coming years, but until you walk the walk, I wonder if you should talk about it.
