The Nielsen Media Research estimated 12.7 million viewers watched the newly renovated hybrid Ford Mustang that plays the starring role in the Knight Rider movie on Sunday (via edmunds). It was very popular in the 18-49 year old and did very well in men 18-49 and 25-54.
Which all adds up to a Knight Rider Series coming.
In the movie, it was revealed KITT, which (who?) is based on Ford's Mustang Shelby Cobra, was capable of getting 167 mpg. According to KITT: "My system is largely solar-powered. It recycles ninety-one percent of its expended energy, allowing a ratio of 167 miles traveled for every gallon of fuel burned."
In case you were wondering (for some reason, it wasn't on the NBC web site), the voice of KITT was done by Val Kilmer, who replaced Will Arnett. Arnett was removed after the lawyers got involved since he is used in several GM ads.
