Toyota is recalling the Highlander, including the hybrid version, built between May 2007 and March 2008. Notifications will be sent out in June to around 90,000 owners.
The issue involves the seat belt in the third row seat. The problem occurs when placing a rear-facing child seat, it may not be properly secured.
A stop sale was issued on the 2008 Highlander SUV, including the hybrid version, to retrofit changes to the seat belt.
There have been no complaints or injuries tied to the seat belts.
