Europe will get a Prius based hybrid instead of the new Lexus hybrid in 2010 according to a Lexus official (Source: Europe will get Prius-based Lexus hybrid in 2010 - Automotive News).
The large hybrid from Lexus won't pass muster for European buyers with it's higher CO2 emissions.
The new Prius, which will debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January, will get CO2 emissions of 92 g/km. The Lexus version will have higher emissions since it, like the other other Lexus hybrids, is designed to increase performance over fuel efficiency.
