GM is sending a caravan of 2-Mode Hybrid Vues to the Presidential Inauguration straight from the Detroit Auto Show. The caravan will start in Detroit and will stop off at OSU, Ottawa Elementary in Toledo, PSU, Saturn of Monroeville, PA, Saturn of Harrisburg, PA and Howard University in Washington, D.C.
The 2-Mode Saturn Vue Hybrid will go on sales later this year. GM expects the 2-Mode Hybrid Vue to be the most fuel-efficient gasoline V-6 vehicle on the market.
The caravan will make the stops in order to give people a chance to pledge to make positive changes to reduce the country's energy consumption. The Hybrid Vues will be used in D.C. as courtesy transportation, while the oversized card made infused with wildflower seeds wishing Obama well will be presented to the President-elect and then planted.
I wonder if they're going to discuss the future plans for Saturn with Obama at the same time? According to the latest news report, Saturn may be a casualty of the economy, as GM focuses in on just four brands.
Anyone signing a pledge can have their photo taken. The photos will be posted on Facebook (search on "Saturn").
