The 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid price has been set at $31,300. That's around $4,000 more than the starting price of the Ford Fusion Hybrid.
The Mercury Milan Hybrid still qualifies buyers for the full federal tax credit of $3,400, but only until the end of March. At that point the tax credit will be cut in half. Between April 1, 2009, and Sept. 30, 2009, customers who purchase a 2010 Fusion or Milan Hybrid are eligible for a partial credit of $1,700. Between Oct. 1, 2009, and March 31, 2010, an $850 credit applies.
The Milan Hybrid is very similar to the Ford Fusion Hybrid, including the packages. The base package is just a little bit more (link is pdf).
The hybrid model starts out as the I-4 Premier Model, but then you add in the hybrid components including a 110V power point, an AM/FM Stereo with 6 Disc CD, MP3 Capable system with six speakers. The gas engine is a 2.5L Atkinson I-4 (170 hp) along with an electric motor powered by a 275V sealed Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) Battery Pack. The car also comes with regenerative braking, which helps recharge the batteries. It also comes with an Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT).
The SmartGauge with EcoGuide helps you to drive more fuel efficiently, while the reverse sensing system helps you drive safely. The outside badging indicates this is a hybrid car, while the tires are special to the hybrid cars from Ford, 17" aluminum wheels.
