The five nominees for Green Car of the Year are out. They are the Audi A3 TDI, Honda Insight, Mercury Milan Hybrid, Toyota Prius and Volkswagen Golf TDI.
The winner will be announced on Dec 3 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The nominees were selected by Green Car Journal editors. The winner will be selected by jurors which include the likes of Jay Leno, Jean-Michel Cousteau, Carroll Shelby, Matt Petersen of Global Green USA and the Sierra Club's Carl Pope, along with Green Car Journal editors.
The five nominees this year are three hybrids and two clean diesels. It's the first time an Audi has made the list.
Past winners include the Volkswagen Jetta TDI in 2009 and the Chevy Tahoe Hybrid in 2008 and the Toyota Camry Hybrid in 2007.
