The Toyota Prius and Honda Civic hybrid appear in Edmunds Top 10 Best Vehicles for Seniors in 2006. They evaluated each car on it's senior-friendly features, as well as overall quality and performance.
In placing the Toyota Prius at no. 3, they noted how the Prius has made it easier to deal with arthritis. It has a buttonless, easy to move shifter. Also, there's a keyless entry (optional) and touchscreen controls. Many of the controls are voice activated. A backup camera (optional) makes it easier to see what's happening behind your car.
The Honda Civic came in eighth place with its low cost to own reputation. According to Edmunds the Civic is comfortable and easy to manuever. And any 'green' senior will love it's ultralow emissions and great fuel economy.
