Toyota is recalling the 2004-05 models of the Toyota Highlander and Lexus Rx330 and early 2006 models of the Highlander Hybrid and the Rx 400h.
Apparently a clip could come loose and allow a small trim piece of the console, located on the center-left side of the front compartment. If it comes loose, it could interfere with the accelerator. Seven complaints and two accidents were reported to the company, but no injuries have been reported.
2320,000 gasoline powered Highlanders and 3,700 hybrids are affected. 123,500 Rx 330 SUvs and 8,300 Rx 400h are being recalled.
Owners are being contacted in late July. Dealers will install new clips on the console.
