The next generation Prius had been highly anticipated. It was supposed to come with the new battery type (Lithium-Ion), which would have given it a giant leap in fuel efficiency. But, for now at least, the next generation Prius due in 2008-2009 will (originally) be powered by nickel-metal hydride batteries instead.
But it is still going through a redesign and Jalopnik has spotted the new look (Found via autoblog). It seems the front end is being remodeled after the Camry or Yaris, while the back end is staying the same.
