It looks like LA may be ending the free parking program in their parking garages in March. Because of budget issues, the City Council's transportation committee has endorsed the recommendation to end the program.
Is it time to let hybrid cars stand on their own? Or are people still buying because of incentives like this? My bias says hybrid cars are here to stay, irregardless of HOV or free parking incentives, but I also know that some people do buy because of them.
The $4,000 people were willing to pay to enter the HOV lane is proof enough of that.
The full council still has to approve the recommendation of the transportation committee, so the free parking program is still in effect. Source: Free parking for some hybrids may be coming to an end in L.A. | L.A. Now | Los Angeles Times
