Toyota is asking the Indian government to relax norms for importing hybrid cars. Honda has also looked to get India to change its rules.
But like Honda, Toyota has just begun negotiations. It may be quite a while before either company can convince government officials to open their borders.
It's unsure what type of demand Toyota will get for their hybrid cars. India is better known for smaller, cheaper (much cheaper) vehicles.
